Tactical Bleeding Control for First Responders
Tactical Bleeding Control for First Responders
In emergencies, minutes count! When a civilian or fellow first responder is severely bleeding it is possible they can bleed to death in as little as a few minutes. That’s why bleeding control—keeping the blood inside the body—is the purpose of this training.
This is a training course is specifically presented for FIRST RESPONDERS, and requires no previous medical training. It covers how to control life-threatening bleeding utilizing tourniquets and wound packing in addition to the application of commercial chest seals.
This course is taught by our top-notch instructors with LE/Military/EMS experience, relying on their real-world application of all the bleeding control skills covered in the class. You won’t be disappointed!
EMS cannot always be there when you need them. A civilian or fellow first responder who is bleeding, can die from blood loss within minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the flow of blood. Those nearest person to someone with life threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care.
Why do we have the word “tactical” in the course name? One definition of tactical is: “of a person or their actions showing adroit (clever or skillful in using the hands or mind) planning; aiming an end beyond the immediate action.” We want you to train and plain for worst-case scenarios. Your ultimate “end goal” is saving a life and going home at the end of the day.
The Life-Threatening Tactical Bleeding Control Course is designed for ALL FIRST RESPONDERS. As a first responder, you WILL be called upon to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control to a victim of traumatic injury prior to hospital intervention. This knowledge is a MUST!
This course is hands-on and skills based. There are no videos or PowerPoint slides. For larger groups we will utilize a “round robin” style approach with three separate skill stations.
Topics covered:
Commercial Tourniquet Application
Wound Packing with and without Hemostatic Agents (i.e. QuikClot)
